seriously, this was a thing at one point and I want it to make a
comeback. Just imagine it: Marvel's making all these moves right now
in preparation for the “original” Jean to make a comeback and
instead of the 90s blue and yellow suit or the green bodysuit and
gold sash of the classic Phoenix costume we get this...

Okay,
this is mostly just me trolling but I think there is something to be
said for bringing back Little Miss Perfect in a slightly different
form, especially as the younger Jean Grey is largely just the same
character but a bit more assertive. The other original X-Men have
pretty big differences between their time lost selves and their
modern day selves (being less dead; being less evil; being more
confident in their gayness; being Doctor Strange with big feet) but
the difference between the two Jeans seems to be little more than the
younger Jean is reaching some deep, personal realisation a bit sooner
than the original did.
So
what would be a better way to distinguish the two than to give one of
them massive hentai tentacles?
